Swing is an excellent product in terms of function, speed and design.
Swing offers all the functions required for manufacturing prosthetic appliances, and allows a simple, easy scanning process.
It shows excellent data even when difficult cases such as impression scanning and interproximal scanning are involved.
I tend to consider design factors heavily in the process of choosing a product, and I always thought that other scanners lacked good design factors.
I really like the simple, modern design that Swing has to offer.
I come across scanners of diverse brands as I manufacture numerous prosthetic appliances and give numerous lectures, but Swing is my choice.

The area scanning method that demonstrates excellent scanning quality
The area scanning method that saves data through capturing the overall scanning area demonstrates a margin line significantly sharper than that demonstrated by the line scanning method that combines data after separately reading data per each line.
The multi-die scanning that scans 7 abutment teeth at once
The actual occlusal relationship can be reproduced through the transfer plate. Since the transfer plate can be used to reproduce the occlusal relationship among Artex, SAM, KAVO, Bio-Art and Adesso mounted on the articulator, it is possible to manufacture precise prosthetic appliances. In addition, the optional transfer plate capable of reproducing the occlusal relationship in a clinical state is available.

It scans narrow and deep impressions, and its independent target scanning technology automatically matches the data acquired from the front and rear sides. In the case where a more clear margin line is preferred, it is possible to pour the prep-die plaster, execute an additional scanning process, and combine the data.
The perfect interproximal scanning method that involves no hole filling
When you run the software and select the interproximal scanning function, a perfect interproximal scanning process will be executed. In the case where the CAD/CAM are used for straightening, the interproximal scanning process is a very important part. However, a deep groove makes it very difficult to execute the scanning process. Therefore, the scanners provided by other companies use the hole-filling function where the holes are temporarily filled. However, since such process is executed without collecting accurate interdental information, any work to be done after such process may result in certain problems. However, the scanners provided by DOF provide perfect data through executing the interproximal scanning process.
(Virtual Articulator set-up)
Even in the case where an adjustable articulator is not used, the scanned data can be saved as the virtual articulator’s coordinate values to reproduce the mandibular movements on the CAD software. In addition, the model data can be easily moved to the virtual articulator’s coordinates without using the transfer plate.
Using the Renishaw Control Function to Manufacture a Precise Implant Bar
An optical scanner is advantageous in that numerous data can be acquired at a prompt speed, and a touch-probe scanner is advantageous in that small data can be acquired with precision(approximately within 5 microns). DOF has developed a solution that combines these two advantages and has been supplying such solution to the well-known overseas implant companies and milling centers. Since ScanApp, DOF’s scanning software, can be used to control Freedom Line Scanner and Renishaw’s touch-probe scanner at the same time, it is possible to precisely manufacture an implant bar case.
Using the Scanbody fitting function to
accurately set the implant library
It is a function where the top, cylinder and side plane of the scanned scanbody data are set and the saved coordinate values are utilized in the exocad software. The scanbody matching phase is omitted in the software, and the implant library is moved to more accurate coordinate values.
The Auto Alignment that automatically aligns data through calculating common point values
In general, in order to align data, it is necessary to find common data, mark 1 to 3 points prior to aligning data. Although it may vary depending on the cases, it is very difficult to find a common point for certain cases.There is a possibility that the aligned data may be slightly distorted, and, for a maxillary teeth + mandibular teeth case, it is necessary to align the maxillary teeth data, align the abutment teeth data, and align the mandibular teeth data. In the case where there is a 3-bridge case on both sides, or, in the case where maxillary teeth and mandibular teeth include an abutment tooth, the alignment process takes a lot of time. By using the auto alignment function, it is no longer necessary to mark points and align data. Without having to mark points, the program itself automatically calculates common point values and aligns data.
