DOF will hold its fourth seminar of 2021 on November 27 and the seminar is about Smart Factory.
This seminar will be divided into three parts. The first part is “Digital Communication” by Dr. Keonghwan Han, DDS, the second part is “One-Step Milling Solution” by Mr. Younglok Jee, the owner of Good Day Dental LAB, and the third part is “Smart Factory Information” by Mr. Jungrak Choi, a smart factory consultant.
Especially, the third part will cover in detail of the upcoming Smart Factory Project application in February 2022 including application procedures, methods, and success stories.
“Smart Factory” is a national project that supports digitization so that small manufacturers with less than 10 employees can improve productivity and quality by incorporating smart technologies into manual manufacturing processes. 70% of the total construction cost is supported and less than 30% of private funds. Business expenses worth 44 million won per company have been provided to small manufacturers of 600 companies selected this year, and 1,000 companies will be selected next year.
Meanwhile, DOF was selected as a smart factory supplier this year and has been supplied CAD/CAM equipment such as scanners and milling machines, and will supply Sync, a self-developed MES program, together from next year. If the MES program is different from the equipment supplier, it must go through the process of manually entering the progress of the equipment using the barcode. DOF has been directly developed the MES program optimized for its equipment to solve this issue. Just by using the equipment, data necessary for process management automatically rises to the cloud, and based on the data, quality management, gold release/stock management, and sales management are easily possible.
Song Jae Lee, director of DOF, said “There are many CAD/CAM companies which supply equipment with other MES companies, but it is difficult to say that it is a real smart production process because they operate separately with equipment and MES programs. The ‘Smart Factory Solution’ of DOF, consisting of process management program Sync developed in line with milling machines, CRAFT 5X, and CRAFT 5X will be an excellent option for dental technicians as smart factory partners.
